A traditional Tudor in Hancock Park needed a garden redo. The extensive lawn needed to be re-thought — only reducing — with an eye towards using more of the lawn space for entertaining and relaxing. The landscape benefitted from added new focal points providing the redesigned areas distinction. We added brick-edged planting beds and several water features, all augmented by a classic mediterranean plant palette. Using repurposed flagstone and old brick a patio for gathering was built along with a fireplace behind a curved hedge creating a private room of sorts. making this garden welcoming to come home to after a challanging day at the office and a good place to unwind with a glass of chilled wine.
